I am enthusiastic about the Delft method because it is a very interactive method: you speak throughout the whole lesson. And you don’t talk about the language, you actually use it.
I find the method efficient: my students reach a high level relatively quickly. They also speak fairly fluently and correctly.
In addition to talking about the texts, students also exchange as much as possible about their own lives/experiences. And they are encouraged to find and correct their own mistakes. They learn from that as well.
It is a less suitable method for students who need more time to master the language and/or find it difficult to pick up grammar implicitly. It also takes a lot of preparation time.

Ik ben enthousiast over de Delftse methode omdat het een heel interactieve methode is: je spreekt de hele les. En je praat niet over de taal, maar gebruikt het echt.
De methode vind ik efficiënt: mijn cursisten bereiken relatief snel een hoog niveau. Ook spreken ze redelijk vloeiend en correct.
Naast het praten over de teksten, wisselen cursisten ook zoveel mogelijk uit over hun eigen leven/ervaringen. En ze worden gestimuleerd hun eigen fouten te vinden en te verbeteren. Daar leren ze weer van.
Het is een minder geschikte methode voor cursisten die wat meer tijd nodig hebben om zich de taal eigen te maken en/of het moeilijk vinden om grammatica impliciet op te pikken. Ook kost het veel voorbereidingstijd.
