As English has become increasingly important in today’s world, it has provided me with wonderful opportunities to teach students from a wide variety of countries and backgrounds. Students have described me as patient, funny, warm and an excellent listener. I engage students by choosing material and activities suited to their needs, levels and learning styles. In making the lessons as student-centered as possible, it is my goal for students to get the most out of each class. As a passionate language learner myself, I speak Spanish, Dutch and a bit of French. It’s thrilling to put my studies to use and speak with native speakers. My hope is to pass this same excitement on to my students.
Brief CV
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Spanish and a minor in music. Her first formal teaching experience was at a kindergarten in South Korea in 2014. She moved to Vietnam in 2015 and obtained a CELTA Certificate in order to further develop her teaching skills. While living in Vietnam, she taught English in both public schools and group lessons. Since 2017, she has been living in the Netherlands and teaching English online as well as in person.
