What will I learn?
In these two (or three) courses for beginners, you will learn the basics of Dutch. Starting off with talking about yourself and having small, everyday conversations. Alongside general homework, you will receive practical assignments to immediately put your new knowledge into practice.
Beginners I
You will specifically become familiar with themes such as: introducing yourself, making appointments, placing an order in a bar or restaurant, talking about your weekend plans and what you did last weekend, asking for and giving directions, talking about celebrations, shopping at various shops.
Beginners II (and III)
This course continues where the beginners I stops. After having learned the basics and the most important sentence structures, we will continue with more complex situations and get used to talking about events in the past, present and future. Themes you will be able to talk about: how you spend your free time and holidays or trips you went on, talking about the recent and distant past, personality, going to the doctor, your school/work experiences and tasks at work.
What to expect?
Each class has a maximum of 8 participants, which ensures you get the most out of it. The teacher provides personal feedback, you get a lot of time to speak and simultaneously you learn from classmates who have other questions and experiences.
Evening & morning classes
We offer this course in the evenings and mornings. For those who work during office hours, we start after 17:00 and alternate start times every week: one week you have class at 17:15 and the other at 19:30. For those who are not tied to an office job, we also offer morning classes.
On-line or off-line?
Our courses can be offered either on-line or in the classroom/hybrid class. During the application process you can give your preference. After applying we set up an intake meeting. During the intake meeting we discuss your goals and expectation for the course and we assess your level. If you have any questions, we can also answer them in that conversation.
